| remember fading off and daydreaming? Are you | | | | But for something that tugs at your heart, |
| living the life you thought of back then? If you are, | | | | Something that's your aspiration, |
| congrats my friend, as you are among a very slim | | | | Something that's your dream. |
| number. The majority of the people I have studied | | | | You owe it to yourself, to make your days here |
| tell me that they are NOT living the life they | | | | count. |
| envisioned for themselves. | | | | Have fun. |
| Let me share something with you. Not only am I | | | | Dig deep. |
| living the life I dreamed up for myself back in 2003, I | | | | Stretch. |
| have far exceed my own expectations. A few | | | | DREAM BIG |
| weeks ago I was on the phone with a guy who was | | | | Know, though, things worth doing seldom come easy. |
| just getting started with our team. The gentleman | | | | There will be good days, |
| asked me if the business had lived up to my | | | | And there will be times when you want to turn |
| expectations. His question really got me thinking. I | | | | around, |
| shared with him the impact his question had had on | | | | Pick it up, |
| me. How we dreamed up this life & now we are | | | | And call it quits. |
| living it. Pretty simple yet pretty powerful. | | | | These times tell you that you are pushing yourself, |
| Back when I was a freshman in college I was | | | | That you are not afraid to learn by trying. |
| thumbing through the campus newspaper when I | | | | PERSIST |
| stumbled across a short poem that would have a | | | | Because with an idea, |
| major impact on how I viewed life & how I lived | | | | Determination, |
| life. It was in that moment that I adopted the title of | | | | And the right tools, |
| the poem as my life motto, DREAM BIG. | | | | You can do great things. |
| I cut out a copy of the poem and carried it in my | | | | Let your instincts, |
| wallet during college. When I left for Marine Corps | | | | Your intellect, |
| boot camp at Parris Island, I carried a copy with my | | | | And your heart guide you. |
| stuff & placed a beaten copy in my cover | | | | TRUST |
| during graduation. When I was stationed in the desert | | | | Believe in the incredible power of the human mind. |
| a copy went with me. | | | | Of doing something that makes a difference. |
| Later in my "real world" career, I placed a copy on | | | | Of working hard, |
| my desk at every job I have ever held. Back in | | | | Of laughing and hoping, |
| March 2003 when Leslie & I started our own | | | | Of lazy afternoons, |
| business, a copy was on my desk in our little 2 | | | | Of lasting friends, |
| bedroom apartment. I have had a copy with me | | | | Of all the things that will cross your path this year. |
| when we moved to the beach in Santa Monica | | | | The start of something new, |
| & both of our homes in Scottsdale, AZ. | | | | Brings the hope of something great. |
| Right now on my desk - you guessed it - you will | | | | Anything is possible. |
